The family or group photo you'd like the person added to, and 1–4 clear photos of them - ideally alone in the frame, from roughly the age you want them to appear. Scans of old prints work.

Nothing about it is invented except the moment itself. We think plain honesty matters more on this page than anywhere else on this site, which is why you'll find it in the first screen and not in fine print.
Two things. The base photo - the family or group photograph you'd like the person added to - and one to four clear photos of that person, ideally alone in the frame, from roughly the age you want them to appear. Old prints work: scan them or photograph them straight-on in even light.
No. The generation is locked to keep the person exactly as they are in the photos you provide - same facial structure, same features, same apparent age, same hairstyle. No beautifying, no de-aging, no reinvention. The same lock applies to everyone already in the base photo: they stay completely untouched.
Families have commissioned composite memorial portraits for well over a century - painters and photo retouchers have quietly added lost relatives into family portraits since long before computers. Made knowingly, by the family, as a keepsake, we believe it sits in that same tradition. Whether it is right for your family is entirely your call, and if you share the image beyond the people who know its story, we'd encourage saying what it is.
They stay private. Uploaded photos are used only to create your portrait, are never used to train AI models, and you can delete them - and the results - from your account at any time.
