What’s a rule and what’s a heuristic
- Hard checks - the ratio windows, pixel ranges and Uber’s 10 MB cap are the platforms’ own published numbers, dated and sourced in the delivery-app photo guide.
- Advisory checks - both platforms list “too dark or too light” and “blurry” as rejection reasons but publish no thresholds. The brightness and sharpness readings here are our heuristics: a warning is a smell, not a verdict - and a pass is not a guarantee.
- One photo can’t serve both - DoorDash wants 16:9, Uber Eats wants 5:4–6:4. Crop the same source twice with the image resizer’s presets.
